Giving piano lessons??? Please answer easy 10 points?
Friday, May 22nd, 2009I know someone who plays the piano seriously, she is only 14 years old and tuns 15 in October and she has performend in over 10 competitions and has won top honor in some, and auditioned for a competition at the Broadmoor hotel, and a lady from Julliard judged her and she was excepted for the competition, she can also play most of the original nutcraker, but my question is she wants to teach little kids the basics of piano when she is only 14 do you think you would take her seriously at that age to teach, or the parents? Thanks so much for your time!
It depends on her level of maturity.
I began learning the piano when I was 12 and it was a 15 yr old girl teaching me who had been playing since she was about 4.
She should try handing out some leaflets, maybe sticking some in supermarket advertising boards and see what replies she gets.
A lot of parents want their children to begin learning piano, so she may be in luck, she just needs to be careful it doesn't interfere with her school work or take up too much time preparing resources for the children she'll teach.
